  • Jennifer Maloney , DVM

    As a child, Dr. Jennifer Maloney knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. She has always had a special bond with and love for all animals. She attended the University of Illinois where she earned both her undergraduate degree and her doctorate in veterinary medicine. Dr. Maloney feels fortunate to have become the owner of the Cleveland Veterinary Clinic in March of 2012. What she finds most rewarding about her career are the close relationships she forms with her clients and patients. As well as general practice, Dr. Maloney has additional interests in abdominal ultrasound, laser, orthopedic  and advanced soft tissue surgery. 

    Dr. Maloney lives in St. Charles with her husband Joe and 3 dogs (Pauly, Sophie and Pickles). In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading and traveling.

  • Kara Robbins, DVM

    Dr. Robbins joined our team in 2016 after working in the Wheaton area for 5 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in zoology from Western Illinois University followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 2011.  After completing an internship at the Brookfield Zoo Dr. Robbins learned that she enjoys working with pocket pets and other exotic species in her daily practice.

     Dr. Robbins lives in Elgin, Illinois with her husband Aaron and son Logan.  They share their home with their dog, two cats, two turtles, and a bearded dragon. In her spare time she enjoys running, gardening, crocheting, and crafting soap.

  • Margaret Dougherty, DVM

    Dr. Margaret Dougherty joins the CVC family in April 2017 and we can't be more excited. We are convinced that she will add another layer of success to our amazing hospital.

    Dr. Margaret has worked in the veterinary field for a long time spending the last 21 years at a small animal practice. We are lucky she reached out to us and wanted to join our team. She has great experience in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.

    Dr. Margaret’s demeanor is kind and she values client and patient care whole heartedly. She forms bonds with her peers and loves to collaborate regarding cases. We feel she will adjust very easily into our culture.

    Dr. Margaret is a mom to a teenage boy and has 2 dogs, 2 cats, and lizards at home. She has a strong interest in surgery, internal medicine, and developing long-term relationships with her clients and patients.

  • Chris Triola, DVM

    Dr. Triola earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University, located on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts, West Indies, in 2007. He completed his clinical year of study at Washington State University. After 11 years of practice within the Chicagoland area and the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Triola has found himself back home in Chicago and is looking forward to reconnecting and building new relationships with the South Elgin area and the pets therein.


     

    Dr. Triola’s professional interests include internal medicine, dentistry, geriatric care and preserving the Human-Animal bond. Dr. Triola is also a fear-free certified practitioner. His focus is to take the “pet out of petrified” and “put the treat into treatment.” This fear-free approach helps ensure pet owners are helping pets live happy, healthy and full lives. “Our pets are part of our families, and deserve to be treated as such, so I respect and understand the close bond that exists between them and their owners. I am proud to be able to offer the highest caliber of medicine, what I would want for my family, to the four-legged members of yours.”

     


    When not at work, Dr. Triola can be found staying active by either hiking, running, or doing yoga. He also enjoys restoring antique furniture and spending time in the kitchen with his partner Katie, where they do their best to keep their two dogs, Grandpa Rossy and Opal, from begging for delicious samples of their kitchen creations.

  • Jennifer Shallow, Hospital Manager

    Jennifer joined our team in June of 2016 as Hospital Manager. She has worked in both the animal medical/welfare and the business worlds. Jennifer started her animal career working at a 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital, which led her to directing a mid-sized humane society in Florida, as well as heading the field service and humane investigation department of a humane society in Chicago. She left the nonprofit world to start a career in Veterinary Hospital Management years ago and she loves working with the Clients, Patients and the Team. In addition to her work with animals and in the nonprofit world, Jennifer has also done accounting and book keeping for a large distributor of electrical control parts.

    Jennifer has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology (criminal justice), a Minor in Business Administration, and a Master's Certificate in Non-Profit Management. She has a passion for animals and has had everything from dogs and cats to horses, goats, wild pigs and sugar gliders!

    Jennifer currently has three dogs, four cats (all rescues), a quarter horse and a very spirited preschooler at home! Jennifer is excited to be a part of the Cleveland Veterinary Team and looks forward to many years ahead.

    My name is Kramer and you have most likely seen or heard me at the hospital. I love to greet everyone and can be quite a singer... As cute as I am, I do not really like to be handled by people I do not know so I may get feisty at times!

  • Cindy

    Cindy Kay brought her bookkeeping expertise to the Cleveland Veterinary Clinic in March of 2005. Although only at the clinic on a part-time basis, Cindy has made herself indispensable by tackling all areas of the clinic’s finances with efficiency and accuracy.

    Cindy makes her home in Elgin with her husband, Curt, and their daughter, Taylor. Her dogs Cubbie, Koda, a Ragdoll named Buddy, a hermit crab named Spots, a bunny named Snowball, and an aquarium of freshwater fish round out their family.

    Cindy enjoys traveling with her family to destinations in both Wisconsin and Florida, where they fish, swim and spend time outdoors. In addition, she supports Taylor in her aspirations as an ice skater, both in individual and team shows and competitions.
  • Amy - Head Veterinary Technician

    Amy joined our tech team here at CVC as head technician in 2017. She started in the veterinary field 27 years ago as kennel, worked her way up and never looked back! Amy's favorite part of her job is watching patients grow and helping sick patients be happy and healthy. Her passion for surgery and knack for organization made her the perfect fit for our team. 

    In her free time, Amy spends time with her children, her husband and their pets, Opie, Althea and the crazy Guinea Pig Milo. She plays a big part in her kids extra curricular activities and loves be able to cheer them on from the sidelines of their favorite sports. In her downtime you can find Amy relaxing with her favorite snack (chips and salsa) and watching bad reality tv. 
  • Anita, Certified Veterinary Technician

    Anita is a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).

    Anita has been involved with animals since a young age (her mom always fostered for rescue organizations). She graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from Parkland Community College in 1993, and has worked in the Fox Valley area for twenty-plus years. She keeps learning by attending continuous education seminars yearly. Anita met Dr. Maloney at a clinic they both worked at in Geneva, and is enjoying the opportunity to work with her again.

    Anita has a German Shorthair Pointer named Disco and a Chocolate Lab named Biscuit. In her free time, she enjoys biking, fishing, boating and gardening.

  • Erin - Veterinary Technician

    Erin Nelson became a part of the Cleveland Veterinary Clinic nursing team in June of 2007. She remembers that her strong connection with animals began in early childhood. It is that connection or drive that compelled her to choose veterinary nursing as her vocation. Erin is intrigued by the process of diagnosing and treating pets. She especially enjoys forming long-term relationships with clients and their pets and finds client education very satisfying.

    Erin shares her home with her husband, Barry and her children. She has three brother cats, Wasabi, Tobiko and Mouse, that she rescued when they were only two days old and a French Bulldog named Penelope. When not at the clinic, Erin enjoys spending time with her animals and the people she cares about most. She also enjoys trying different ethnic foods and restaurants and knitting or crocheting gifts for friends and family.
  • Shari - Veterinary Technician

    Shari started her career as a veterinary technician in 1997 at a veterinary hospital in Chicago, where she is originally from. She worked there until 2003 when she moved to Warrenville, IL. In 2003, Shari started working at an animal hospital in Geneva, IL. During her time there, she met and worked with Dr. Jennifer Maloney. Shari says, “I have seen what a smart, passionate, and caring doctor she is. Dr. Maloney has taken great care of my pets. They are my own furry children.” Shari has been a Vet Tech since 1997 and cannot think of a better or more rewarding career. Since Shari was a little kid, she has always loved helping and caring for animals. As of February 2012, she became a part of the Cleveland Veterinary Clinic family.

    Shari is married to her childhood sweetheart, John. They share their home with their  2 cats, Colin and Ginger. She cannot imagine her life without them. 
  • Mandie - Veterinary Technician

    Mandie joined our technician team here at CVC in 2017 but has been in the veterinary field since 2013. Her love for animals and knack for customer service made her a great addition to the team! Mandie loves the connection to the clients and the pets she gets while being a tech. 

    When she's not here helping the doctors in rooms or in surgery she can be found at home spending quality time with her family, Saul and Gianna and her pets, Cici, Nugget and Macho. Mandie also loves to volunteer her time at her church. 
  • Miranda - Veterinary Technician

    Miranda knew even at a young age she wanted to be able to work with animals. Before joining our team in 2015, Miranda volunteered at Cosley Zoo as an animal care giver. It was there that she fell in love with the medical side of animal care and decided she wanted to become a certified veterinary technician. She just completed her courses for C.V.T. at Rockford Career College and is preparing to take her boards soon! She loves the veterinary field and cannot imagine doing anything else.
  • Katie- Veterinary Technician

    Katie started out in the veterinary medicine field when she was 19 years old. Her passion for animals is what drew her to the field but she then fell in love with the medicine behind it. She loves assisting in surgeries and dentals because she loves being part of what is helping an animal feel its best.  Her calming demeanor and patient personality make her a great asset to our team!

     

    Besides her passion for animals, Katie loves to read, watch movies or just enjoy time at home with her family . In her free time she volunteers her time at Lutheran General Hospital helping and supporting families in the NICU. She also supports the Little Giraffe Foundation, they fund Neonatal research and supports families in the NICU.

     

    Katie is a coffee loving, country girl who enjoys the little things in life. We are happy to have her join the CVC family!

  • Mariam - Reception

    Mariam joined our reception team in December 2012. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2007.  Mariam has always had a great love for animals and grew up with cats and dogs. She could not imagine a house without a pet because they make wonderful companions.

    Mariam shares her home with her Husband and daughter, and their cat Stanley. In her free time Mariam loves to do yoga, go for walks, read and cook. 
  • Amber - Reception & Marketing Coordinator

    Amber has always had a love for all animals, so when she took a part time position after high school as a kennel assistant she knew she found her calling. Her love and passion for animals just grew and she enjoys making a difference in their lives. Amber started in the veterinary field in 2005 and joined our reception team in December 2012. Amber is also the Media and Marketing Coordinator here at the clinic. 

    Amber shares her home with her husband and 2 children. She loves spending time with her family, reading and watching movies. She has 4 rescue dogs, Apollo, Tanger, Mack, Tinkerbell and 1 Maine Coon cat, Crosby.
  • Chloe - Reception

    Chloe joined the CVC Family in 2014  but has been in the veterinary field since 2009. Chloe is kind, compassionate and has a great understanding of veterinary medicine. Chloe also brings great knowledge of pet nutrition to our reception staff. 

    Before Chloe joined our team here at CVC, she lived in Nevada and worked with wild life, birds, reptiles and even camels! In her free time she loves to paint, hike and garden. Chloe resides here in South Elgin with her 2 cats, Rello and Snowball and a dog named Pippin. 

  • Geri - Reception

    Geri joined the team here at CVC in 2017. She came to us with 20 years knowledge and experience. Her genuine love for pets, compassion and understanding make her a great addition to the reception team. Helping pets live long happy lives is something Geri strives for daily. 

    When she's not smiling up front, you can find Geri crafting away. Her favorite past times are paper crafting, sewing, rubber stamping, craft painting and interior decorating. She also loves spending time with her husband of 31 years and their fur babies. Geri is also passionate about fostering for rescue organizations, Papillon rescue and Papillon Haven in particular. She loves the outstanding care the provide for orphaned dogs. 
  • Cate - Reception

    Cate Weber joined the reception team at Cleveland Veterinary Clinic in August of 2005. She was a career federal employee working in the personnel field for twelve years until she started a family and opened her own home child care business. Once she moved to Elgin in 1994, Cate entered the medical field working for a child psychology office in Schaumburg and then transitioned to the veterinary field at Cleveland Veterinary Clinic to be closer to home.

    Cate makes her home in Elgin with her husband, Dave, and their three children, Nicholas, Danielle and Jennifer. Her family also includes a Welsh Corgi named Charlie, three turtles, Isaac, Ace and Jack, two parakeets, Apple and Icicle, two hamsters, Booboo and Snuggles, and a few nameless fish. On her days off Cate enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking and gardening.
  • Kim - Reception

     Kim joined our reception team here at CVC in 2017 but has been in the veterinary field since 2007. She has always had a love for animals and feels that working with them is therapeutic for her soul and being. 

    Kim has her own personal zoo at home, it includes her dogs Noodles and G.G, her cats Miso and 6 and then her cockatiel named Beamer. She also lives with her husband John and their son Noah. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies, (especially the super heroes) watching cartoons, eating/trying all variations of ethnic foods, and dancing! 
  • Jimmy - Kennel & Tech Assistant

    Jimmy joined CVC in 2016 after working in a costume and magic store. He has always had a love and passion for animals, this passion makes him a great asset to our team here at CVC. 

    In his free time he likes to be outdoors, spend time with family and friends or play video games. Jimmy has a foxhound named Lucy and resides here in South Elgin with his family. 
  • Karlee - Kennel & Tech Assistant

    Karlee first joined our team here at CVC in 2016 as an intern for a college program. Karlee was such a fantastic fit, we added her to the team in a more permanent position in 2017.

    You will find Karlee smiling up front or assisting the doctors and technicians in back. Karlee's love for animals started at the age of 6 and continuously grew from there. In her free time she likes to go see movies or spend time with her family and friends. Karlee resides in Huntley with her family.
